Serious accident in Beit Shemesh: A 16-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a private vehicle on Nahal Tze'elim Street in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
The girl was crossing the road, apparently at a crosswalk, and was hit in the head by the vehicle.
Volunteer paramedics from the United Hatzalah branch in Beit Shemesh provided her with initial medical care until the arrival of a Magen David Adom intensive care team, who evacuated her to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, where her condition was described as serious.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police.
Yehoshua Weiss, head of the 'rescue team' that handled the incident: "The victim was crossing the road, apparently at a crosswalk, and was hit in the head by a private vehicle. "I provided her with first aid until the arrival of the MDA emergency medical team, who took her to the hospital.".
