Despite police and municipal announcements that the railroad tracks in the Shuafat area were vandalized, it became clear to Haredim 10 today that the tracks were not damaged at all, and rapid restoration of the electrical system was carried out in recent days.
According to a spokesperson for the light rail, the train will travel along the entire length of the line tonight, for testing and inspection purposes, and will likely return to full operation within 24 hours.
The police have set up an aerial photography system at a mobile station near the Shuafat neighborhood; the system will photograph the train route in real time using cameras mounted on remotely controlled drones.
The drones will be flown along the line, detecting hotspots of unrest and performing damage control on the train track in real time.
On Monday afternoon, the commander of the Jerusalem Police District, Superintendent Yossi Prienti, and Mayor Nir Barkat visited the neighborhood.
