The synagogue that will bear the name Shabbos Achim was built in Moshav Roi by the residents in cooperation with the Ayelet Hashachar association that operates in kibbutzim. Representatives from the settlement arrived last night at the home of the grieving families of the boys, who were moved by the initiative.

Four days after the bodies were found, and there is already a synagogue in their memory: Today (Friday), the first synagogue was inaugurated in Moshav Roi in the Jordan Valley to commemorate the three boys, Eyal Naftali and Gil, until the age of 14. The synagogue will bear the name "Shabbat Achim" as a paraphrase of the name of the IDF operation to return them, "Return of Brothers." In addition, a Torah scroll was brought into the new house.

The event was attended by about two hundred people, residents of the community and students of the pre-military preparatory school in Hamedat. The event was moderated by Rabbi Shlomo Raanan, chairman of the Ayelet Hashachar organization, and speeches were given by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan, Knesset Member Moshe Feiglin, Cot Rothschild, President of the World Mizrachi, and Rabbi Ephraim Laniado, Rabbi of the community in San Paolo Barzel.

Rabbi Ben Dahan emphasized the government's commitment to continuing to strengthen construction in the Jordan Valley. MK Feiglin addressed the events of recent days and presented the construction of the synagogue and the Torah scroll as an all-out war between good and evil.

Surprisingly, Moshav Roi came to the surface on July 4, 1978, exactly 36 years ago. However, in all these years, there was no synagogue operating on the kibbutz. The initiative to build the synagogue began three years ago by the "Ayelet HaShachar" organization, which responded to residents' requests and assisted in establishing a place of prayer and recruited donors for the construction of a respectable synagogue, and rich and special furnishings will include a luxurious Torah scroll donated by the Fine family from Karnei Shomron.

The chairman of the community's committee spoke about the decision to name the synagogue after the fallen: "Upon learning of the discovery of the bodies, the decision was made unanimously by all the members to commemorate the memory of the boys in the new synagogue.".

Last night [Thursday], community representatives visited Talmon, Elad, and Nof Ayalon and sought the families' consent to the initiative. The families, community members say, were moved by the proposal, which would perpetuate the memory of the three who, during their eighteen days of absence, united the hearts of the people of Israel.
