Love at First Bite: Caprese Bread - Puff Pastry with Tomato Sauce and Mozzarella

Ingredients for 6 servings:

 • 500 grams of rolled and thawed puff pastry

  • 2 mozzarella balls, sliced

 • 10 basil leaves

 • Beaten egg for brushing

For the tomato sauce:

• 2 tablespoons olive oil

• 2 cloves of garlic, crushed

• 1 box Master Chef thinly sliced ​​tomatoes

• 2 tablespoons Master Chef tomato paste

• Salt and black pepper

Preparation instructions:

• Cook the sauce ingredients for 10 minutes to create a thick sauce.

• Roll out the dough on a work surface. Mark a division into three imaginary rectangles lengthwise (you can mark with a knife). Spread the center with 3 tablespoons of tomato sauce and place the filling ingredients in the central third: mozzarella, tomato, basil, and so on.

• Cut the two outer rectangles into equal diagonal strips. Fold the top and bottom edges toward the filling and place the strips, alternating one above the other, on the filling.

• Place the braid on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and chill for half an hour in the refrigerator or 10 minutes in the freezer.

• Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

• Brush the braid with egg.

• Bake for 30 minutes until the dough is baked, puffed and browned.
