Yaakov Shweki: "A few months ago, I attended a weekend for parents and children from the center for children with special needs, and I heard two sisters, who also happen to be mothers of special children, tell each other about their daily struggles and hope.

""I asked them to write me lyrics for the song, with their feelings and emotions, feelings that only a parent of a special child can express.".

The mothers say: "When we began to write down our feelings, we quickly learned that we had many shared thoughts and questions about our child's future and that we had the strength to give and love them unconditionally.".

The mothers, Shavi Nahum and Desi Kurland, wrote the lyrics, the melody by Itzi Waldner and Yaakov Shweki, and the arrangement by musical director Rafi Grady, who accompanies the song on the piano.

Shweki: "I dedicate the song to all parents who encounter difficulties with their children, in the hope that they will be able to draw strength from these moving words.".

Free translation into Hebrew:

Dreams of perfection flicker in my thoughts.
A miracle of life designed to perfection
When I hear your first cry, my heart is flooded with love.
You are lying in my arms, a gift from heaven.
And then come the words that will change my world forever.
Something is wrong with your sweet little daughter.
I embrace you tightly in my arms,
When their old dreams fade away
I know I love you, I will protect and take care of you.
""We'll be okay," I tell you with a gentle kiss...

I promise to be your eyes when you can't see.
I promise to be your voice when you can't speak.
I promise to be your legs when the weight is too heavy for you.
I promise to be your heart when the pain is unbearable.

In the depths of the night, when I see your eyes closing
The mother in my heart longs to know
When those big blue eyes open, do you see me?
Will your cute little arms ever reach out to me?
When you hear laughter, is it just a hollow noise?
Are you afraid of being left alone in joy and sorrow?
Will you ever feel my love penetrating deep within you?
We dream of tomorrow and fall asleep.
""We'll be okay," I tell you with a gentle kiss.

I promise to be your eyes when you can't see.
I promise to be your voice when you can't speak.
I promise to be your legs when the weight is too heavy for you.
I promise to be your heart when the pain is unbearable.

I promise I'll be there.
In moments of victory and in tears
I will be your ray of light in the darkness.
Promise, promise, promise!
