The single "Another Day" from Jonathan Razel's new album, released this month (Yonathan Razel at the Tel Aviv Culture Hall with the Rishon LeZion Israel Symphony Orchestra).
In addition to his familiar songs, Jonathan Razel chose to perform the beautiful song by Rachel Shapira and Matti Caspi (originally performed by Gali Atari), "Another Day".
The arrangement of the song represents the entire album, combining classical and Israeli music, and Razel's piano playing with a symphony orchestra.
Razel says that as a child he loved and greatly appreciated Matti Caspi, who greatly influenced him, and always connected to the song "Oud Yom," which he considers particularly beautiful. He also connects very much to the lyrics and has discussed them in the past with Rachel Shapira, who wrote them. "I don't often do covers, but I connect very much to this song, both musically and lyrically," says Jonathan Razel, emphasizing the message in his closing words: "In anticipation of good" - which move him.
The single is based on an arrangement made for the 'Hebrew Work' project in 2008.
Lyrics: Rachel Shapira. Music: Matti Caspi. Singing, arrangement and orchestration: Yonatan Razel (symphonic editing – Dudi Zeva). Song length 3:59 minutes.
