In a discussion in the State Audit Committee about the discrimination in the summer school summer camp program, MK Yaakov Asher said: "You are pushing a huge public into a corner, and don't come back later with claims.".

In his remarks, MK Asher emphasized that "the decision to exclude the Haredi public from summer school activities came after many discussions and considerations that led to a clear decision: Extend the school year! Since this situation is going to become permanent, and no future Minister of Education will turn the wheel back and return the children to the streets, a very clear statement emerges here: The children of the Haredi public, during a normal school year, are thrown onto the streets, during a normal school year they should be on the streets! Being exposed to dangers, and all this just because their father has a Jewish, Torah-based ideology.".

""I have no doubt that no legal advisor would look kindly on such a thing. Why is the exclusion being made here? Why are they being punished? Why are they taking away the chocolate and the bun from the child? Because his parents want him to be a better person, a better Jew, that's why they take the child and punish him! The human rights knights who sit in this tabernacle have forgotten one thing: a child - is a child - is a child.

""Indeed, we understood the idea a long time ago. You seek to educate the ultra-Orthodox public through money. But you see, it doesn't work, it doesn't succeed. This approach that seeks to 'vaporize' the ultra-Orthodox child is a cruel, excludable approach, an approach that brings the largest and most loyal public in Israel outside the normative circle of society.

""You are pushing a huge public into a corner, and then you will only make claims for yourself.".
