Trouble in bundles: The Attorney General's Office informed the lawyers of Nochi Dankner and Itai Strum today (Tuesday) that it has decided to file indictments against them in the IDB share scam. An indictment will also be filed against IDB, the 'Globes' website reports.

Nochi Dankner's representatives, attorneys Giora Aderet and Ifat Manor Nahari, responded: "We regret the decision of the prosecution, which was made despite our substantive arguments for the absolute innocence of Nochi Dankner. It seems that from the moment the prosecution signed a state witness deal with Adi Sheleg, it was not open to hearing and considering our claims in a substantive and professional manner.

""We will conduct Nochi Dankner's defense before the court, and we are convinced that at the end of the proceedings, his complete innocence and absolute cleanness of hands will be proven clearly and unequivocally.".

The alleged stock run affair at IDB Holdings exploded in January 2014. A day after he lost control of the IDB concern, the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office (Taxation and Economics) summoned Dankner for a hearing before being brought to trial in the stock-running affair, in which he is suspected of having acted fraudulently with Strum, with the intention of influencing the IDB Holdings share price. This was done with the aim of improving the chances of the company's IPO being successful.

The suspicions attributed to Dankner are securities fraud, the offense of misleading information in a prospectus, the offense of violating a reporting obligation, and the offense of prohibiting the carrying out of an action with prohibited property.

Strom, who owns an investment company that manages client portfolios for the upper echelons, and IDB also received a notice that the prosecutor's office will file an indictment against them in the case, subject to a hearing.

Strom is charged with securities fraud, a misrepresentation in a prospectus, a violation of a reporting obligation, a prohibition on engaging in an activity with prohibited property under the Money Laundering Prohibition Law, and a misdemeanor of obstructing an investigation.

IDB is charged with securities fraud, a misrepresentation in a prospectus, a breach of reporting obligations, and a prohibition on dealing in prohibited property under the Money Laundering Prohibition Act.

The third suspect in the case, Adi Sheleg, signed a state witness agreement with the prosecution, in which he agreed to testify against Strum and Dankner.
