The 'HaMikollo' website, which serves as a kind of 'Haredi Wikipedia', works to build and promote a broad fabric of knowledge required by contemporary Haredi, in a clean and strictly kosher manner. • So far, it already contains about 50,000 up-to-date entries.

The 'Urdu Wikipedia' was presented on Thursday evening at the British ambassador's official residence in Ramat Gan.

The event was organized at the initiative of Itzik Crombie, director of Bizmax, a business complex for Haredi men. Rabbis, Haredi public figures, and entrepreneurs from the high-tech sector participated in the event.

At the center of the event was the presentation of the "HaMikollo" website, which serves as a kind of Haredi Wikipedia, working to build and promote a broad fabric of knowledge required by contemporary Haredi, in a clean and strictly kosher manner.

Rabbi Yosef Kaminer, head of the Institute for Literacy and Halachaic Knowledge and the initiator of the complex, presented the complex project to the British Deputy Ambassador to Israel, Tony Kay.

In his remarks, Rabbi Kaminer said that the struggle with Greek wisdom is not just something that happened in those days, but continues in our generation at this time. Unfortunately, many have been sidetracked by their exposure to global knowledge and the Wikipedia website. He quoted the author of Sefat Emet, who explains that "the whole problem with 'Greek wisdom' is not in the wisdom itself, but in the cultural envelope of 'Greek culture' in which the wisdom is contained. Greek wisdom in itself, when it is extracted from the impure shell that surrounds it, is good and worthy, and we bless Baruch for it, who gave of his divine wisdom to flesh and blood.".

He added: "Even today, the problem is not in global knowledge itself, but in the Western cultural envelope in which the knowledge is given, and the 'complex' works to extract all global knowledge from the problematic envelope in which it is given, and presents it in its purity and innocence as indifferent and indifferent to the truth and centrality of the Torah.".

Among other things, he said that while the Hebrew Wikipedia currently has about 200,000 entries, the entire site already has nearly a quarter - about 50,000 - of the entries that are up-to-date and clean.

At the end of his remarks, he turned to the ambassador and said: "We tell you, that next year when we stand here, the collection will have even more entries from the Hebrew Wikipedia!""

The Deputy Ambassador expressed great impression and interest in the project and said, "The Haredi society is one of our important areas of interest, and we see an important and central value in the relationship with the Haredi society.".

After the remarks, the Deputy Ambassador turned to Rabbi Kaminer and gave him his business card with a promise that the Embassy is interested in standing on the side of the "complex", cooperating and assisting the complex as needed.
