Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked has been named Forbes Magazine's Woman of the Year for 2017. As every year, the list includes women from various fields: elected officials, researchers, intellectuals, managers, businesswomen, and more. What they all have in common is their great influence on Israeli society. A statement issued by the magazine reads: "Every year, Forbes publishes a special project to list the 50 most influential women in Israel, with this year's ranking topped by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked... who is involved in every major intersection of Israeli discourse." Minister Shaked said: "I thank Forbes for choosing me as the most influential woman this year. The entire list consists of smart, outstanding and talented women. It is a great honor for me to lead such a list. ''I will continue to work to advance the important issues on the agenda. During my two years in the Ministry of Justice, I have broken many conventions and my hand is still outstretched,'' she promised. It should be noted that although there are currently hundreds of Haredi women in senior positions of influence in various fields, not a single one of them appears on the list.
