Mekor Chaim Yeshiva students in shock: Young men bitterly cry

במוצאי שבת התקיימה תפילה לשלום החטופים בהיכל ישיבת מקור חיים בכפר עציון - הישיבה בה לומדים שנים מהחטופים, גיל-עד שאער בן 16 מהיישוב טלמון, ונפתלי פרנקל בן 16 תושב נוף איילון. בהיכל הישיבה התכנסו עשרות בחורים, שחזרו מיד בצאת השבת לישיבה מביתם, אליהם הצטרפו רבים מההורים. בני הישיבה עדיין נתונים בהלם מחטיפתם של חבריהם לספסל הלימודים, ובמסדרונות הישיבה ניתן למצוא בחורים הממררים בבכי. רבני הישיבה עורכים שיחות חיזוק לבני הישיבה, ומנסים לעודד את רוחם, ולחזקם בתורה ובתפילה. במקביל נערכה התייעצות עם פסיכולוגים, בכדי לתת מענה נכון לבחורים בני ה-16, בסך הכל. Rabbi David Rabinowitz, head of the Mekor Chaim yeshiva, told Israel Hayom yesterday: "Gil-Ad and Naftali left the yeshiva earlier than their friends. They preferred to leave on Thursday at 10 p.m., and we pray and expect them to return to us safe and sound. We are strengthening the security forces and hope for unity among the people at this time. With God's help, we hope that we will have a miracle and will be blessed to see Gil-Ad and Naftali with us again.". Rabinovich added: "The students are anxious and afraid, and we are trying to support them and pray with them, with the goal that we will all get through this in the best possible way. We suggested that the students return to the yeshiva so that they can share with each other and open their hearts. These are the right actions.". Today, a mass prayer service will be held at the yeshiva, with the participation of yeshiva graduates and residents of Gush Etzion. ישיבת מקור חיים נחשבת לאחת הישיבות תיכוניות הטובות בארץ, ובנשיאותה עומד הרב עדין אבן ישראל (שטיינזלץ). בראשות הישיבה עומד הרב דוב זינגר וסגנו הוא הרב דוד רבינוביץ'. הישיבה היא חלק ממוסדות מקור חיים בראשותו של הרב שטיינזלץ, ומספר תלמידיה עומד על כ-300 תלמידים.
