Singer Ahinoam Nini continues her war on the Israeli right, this time focusing [again] on singer Ariel Zilber.
As also published in 'Haredim 10', Zilber released a song in favor of Elor Azaria, "You are the hero and there are others like you in the pit," while at the same time the Israel Artists Union decided to give him a lifetime achievement award.
In an angry and sarcastic post, Nini also asks to award him the Israel Prize: "Yes, yes, guys, it's time to award Ariel Zilber the Israel Prize! Don't you think so? Because he's already received lifetime achievement awards from ACOM and the Emmy, and now, after his latest masterpiece, Glory to the State of Israel, it's time to award him the greatest award of all!! Come on!...""
She further writes: "This sounds like a bad joke, right? A nightmare? Or deja vu? But that's not the case, friends. In accordance with the terrible reality we encounter every day in our country, the Israel Artists Union chooses to award a lifetime achievement award (no, not for music, for a lifetime achievement, there's a difference) to a person who used his great talent to promote the same agenda: violence, racism and hatred (no, this is not a political opinion! There's a difference).".
This is not the first confrontation between the two musicians. About three years ago, Nini refused to accept an award from ACUM, following the organization's decision to simultaneously award a lifetime achievement award to musician Ariel Zilber.
Zilber did not remain obligated and called her to come anyway: "I am against any kind of boycott and I would love to see Achinoam Nini at the ACUM Awards ceremony. Come, bride, Shmulik is calling you.".
