At the initiative and production of the Department of Torah Culture in the city of Petah Tikva, a cantor concert will be held with great cantors in memory of the late Cantor Moshe Shulhof, who passed away about a year ago.

The concert, which will be held as part of the 'Jewish Heritage Month Events', will feature the great cantors: Yitzhak Meir Helfgot, Yaakov Motzen, Israel Rand, David Weinbach, and Ezekiel Klang. They will be joined by the future generation of the cantor world, students and graduates of the Cantor School in Petah Tikva.

The evening will be accompanied by the expanded Raanana Symphonie Orchestra and the Choir of the Cantor School conducted by Menachem Bristovsky, all under the baton and musical direction of conductor Maestro Eli Yaffe.

In a conversation with Cantors10, Shmuel Seltzer, director of the Torah Culture Department at Petah Tikva, says: "A lot of effort is being invested in the production and content of the concert, from unique and new arrangements prepared especially for this evening, to a fascinating repertoire of Jewish classics at their best.".

""As befits a city that holds the title of 'the cantor capital of Israel,' it is important to us here in the city of Petah Tikva to continue to integrate the future generation in the world of cantorship - the young cantors with the great cantors of the present. According to this principle, we frequently integrate the students of the cantor school in our city, on stage in concert halls and on cantor Sabbaths in synagogues," says Seltzer.

The concert will take place on Tuesday, 26 Sivan 5774 – 24.6.2014, at 8:00 PM, at the Petah Tikva Culture Hall, 5 Maccabim Street.
