Nechama Rivlin, the wife of MK Rubi Rivlin, the man who is emerging as the almost certain candidate to win the country's presidential election, published a letter of support for her husband this evening.
""I did not marry the president, so whatever happens, for me you will continue to be bad and beloved," Nechama Rivlin wrote on her husband's Facebook page.
She talks about her meeting with the man decades ago: "We met many years ago, I - a resident of the settlement who came to Jerusalem to study biology, and you - a descendant of the ancestors of the old settlement - a perfect combination of old and new.".
She later writes about her large family, about her adorable grandchildren who come to their home to nibble on "Jerusalem challah" and feast on "Grandma Nechama's food." Rivlin promises that "we will always continue to be who we are, and you will remain my love forever.".
Reuven Rubi Rivlin is 74 years old and a lawyer by profession. He served as Speaker of the Knesset and Minister of Communications. He is the son of Professor Yosef Yoel Rivlin and Rachel Rivlin - both members of the Rivlin family, which immigrated to Jerusalem with the students of the Gra, and married each other in a second marriage.
