The US presidential election campaign has become closer than ever in the past two weeks. The two candidates, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump, are battling for every fraction of a percentage point in a series of key states.

In fact, Trump is a more 'colorful' and provocative candidate, so people are naturally more interested in him even if they don't support him. But Trump clearly leads not only in regular searches, but also in searches such as "how to get a support sign" for the candidate - in which he is 3 times more sought after than his rival Clinton.

Recent history shows that this index is quite accurate when it comes to political predictions. President Barack Obama, who won two consecutive presidential elections, led his opponents John McCain in the search index in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012.

Even George Bush, who defeated John Kerry by a relatively small margin in 2004, had a higher search rate than his opponent before the election – although by a smaller margin, which was indeed reflected in the actual results.
