The attack last night (Wednesday) in the Sharona Market complex in Tel Aviv apparently broke records for expressions of joy on the Palestinian street, and Palestinian social networks were quickly filled with posts and cartoons expressing joy over the murderous attack.
Immediately after the attack was announced, Palestinian users on Twitter and Facebook began posting messages of joy alongside the hashtag "Ramadan Action," and cartoons were published that incorporated the symbols of the Muslim holiday of Ramadan into photographs from the scene of the attack.
When the identities of the terrorists, Muhammad and Khaled Mahamera, 21-year-old cousins from the village of Yatta, south of Hebron, were revealed, photos of the village's residents celebrating were published, with the caption: "Yatta 4: Tel Aviv 0.".
The attack occurred while Muslims were holding the daily Ramadan fast-breaking meal - the "iftar," and in one of the viral posts, a picture of the table at the Max Brenner restaurant was seen with the caption "Our iftar is for you.".
Another illustration shows a rifle bullet inside sweets that Muslims customarily eat at the end of the fast.
Another surfer wrote: "Neither the qadaif nor the kanafa – the attack in Tel Aviv is the sweetest thing in Ramadan.".
The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense also starred in one of the cartoons, watching anxiously on television.
