Yesterday, the Prime Minister posted his personal pay stub on his Twitter account, which shows that he earns 48,815 shekels gross. The net amount is an almost ridiculous 17,645 shekels.
The slip shows that Netanyahu pays 21,572 shekels to the income tax, 2,652 shekels to National Insurance, and 2,054 shekels to health insurance.
About 12,000 shekels are also deducted from Netanyahu's salary for 'vehicle imputation.' The prime minister travels in an expensive, armored vehicle selected by the Shin Bet, not by Netanyahu himself. If the prime minister were allowed to choose his own vehicle, the vehicle imputation clause - which is simpler - would amount to 3,000 shekels.
The slip also reveals that the Prime Minister pays 201 shekels for the use of three telephones, one of which is a mobile phone.
Netanyahu also receives a stipend for meals at work in the amount of 1,330 shekels.
In February, the Prime Minister received a salary increase of 3,408 shekels, in line with the increase received by other Knesset members and ministers.
According to the slip, the Prime Minister works only 42.5 hours a week, when in reality, he works, as everyone understands, many overtime hours.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that the decision to publish the pay stub came following a request from journalists.
