Is anyone trying to run Sara Netanyahu on the Likud list for the 21st Knesset?
As part of the 'Likudiada', a conference of Likud Central Committee members and activists taking place this weekend in Eilat, polling stations were set up in which participants were asked to choose a dummy Likud list for the 21st Knesset.
Today (Thursday), the name of the Prime Minister's wife, Sara Netanyahu, was circulated as an alleged candidate in the mock primaries taking place today and tomorrow. The list also includes the wife of former Interior Minister Judy Nir Mozes Shalom, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, and other contenders.
According to a report by Ben Caspit and Arik Bender in Maariv, as part of the competition, text messages were sent today to Likud activists calling for them to participate in a survey to secure a place for a 'new woman' on the Likud list.
In the text message sent, we gave three options for voting: Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife, Sara Netanyahu, Likud's Knesset candidate Kati Sheetrit, and a third option of opposing the inclusion of family members of serving Knesset members on the Likud list.
The event organizers denied reports that Sarah Netanyahu was a candidate.
A spokesperson for the 'Liquorland' said: "This is a false lie by elements who are exploiting the popularity of the event.".
