Writer and journalist Irit Linor attacked President Reuven Rivlin today (Sunday) on the "Last Word" program on the Galei Tzahal radio station following the joint candle lighting with President Barack Obama and a "Reform rabbi.".

Linor said on the program that Rivlin "should exclude himself from the President's Office, from microphones and from his Facebook page. The candle lighting he did at the White House was a scandal of flattery, an interpretation of the story of the Maccabees who fought for religious freedom and acceptance of others - and hugging teddy bears.".

""Tell me, really? That was the story of Hanukkah?" asked Lenor, stating that the president is "rewriting Hanukkah to please President Obama and a Reform rabbi who is a member of BDS organizations who blesses the candles in Inshallah because it is also a Judeo-Muslim holiday.".

""Inshallah on Hanukkah? It was just... I was disgusted.".

Regarding Rivlin's participation in a conference by the Haaretz newspaper along with a representative from the extreme left-wing organization Breaking the Silence, Linor said: "Talia Sasson will be there, this is what is called a left-wing conference and Rivlin's place is there. He will moderate the panels there. We are talking about a president who keeps slandering us abroad in English and inventing a new Hanukkah so that Obama can smile at him. Truly a disgrace.".

The President's Office said in response to Channel 7: "The President's Office would be happy to invite Irit Linor to a discussion about the holiday and various interpretations of the story of the Maccabees and wishes her a happy Urim holiday.".
