Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife, Sara, hosted the wife of the President of Gabon, Sylvia Bongo Ondimba, at the Prime Minister's House in Jerusalem yesterday.
Netanyahu welcomed the wife of the Gabonese president upon her arrival in Israel, noting that it was a testament to the friendly relations between the countries. Netanyahu spoke with the guest about the historical connection of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.
This visit follows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting in Paris with Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba, who told Prime Minister Netanyahu that his wife would be coming to Israel.
Netanyahu invited the wife of the Gabonese president to a meeting and the two discussed relations between the countries. Netanyahu noted that closer cooperation in the areas of economy and security is important.
The two also discussed the social activities that they both promote, and Mrs. Netanyahu spoke about her support for lone soldiers, the promotion and strengthening of women, support for Holocaust survivors and the elderly, and support and accompaniment of children with cancer.
Today, the Prime Minister's wife will light candles with children with cancer in honor of the holiday of Hanukkah.
