MK Yinon Magal attacked the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, declaring, "Your rule is over, I am not afraid of you, I am not afraid of the media. This reality has changed.".
Magal said these words in light of the attack against him in Yedioth Ahronoth, regarding the increase in MKs' salaries that he supported: "In my opinion, this is the cheapest and most populist thing. The whole story of MKs' salaries has an injustice in it. What Yedioth is doing is very ugly. Their headline was a raise for MKs - not for soldiers. And this is ugly manipulation.

""The soldiers' salaries are being raised, the only one doing this is the government, and not MK Yaakov Perry from Mish Atid who decided he wanted the credit for this proposal for himself.".
""The government decided to raise soldiers' salaries by 50 percent, and the credit for this goes to Naftali Bennett and Moshe Kahlon. This is in the coalition agreement between Jewish Home and Kahlon, which increases by 50 percent.
""Yaakov Perry submitted a proposal, when everyone is aware that the government is doing this. This is a lie from Yedioth Ahronoth.".
In addition, Magal claimed that the increase in the salaries of MKs was part of a general increase for senior figures in the economy: "What the Knesset committee decided is that it does not exclude the salaries of MKs from the salaries of other senior figures, such as judges and the prime minister, etc. There was a recommendation to exclude only the salaries of MKs. Why would they change it, just because Yedioth Ahronoth is shaming MKs?"
