Who is the best field reporter in the ultra-Orthodox sector - and why is he suddenly afraid? • How the War of Independence conquered a family • How Benjamin Khinkis bypassed everyone in a round-robin • And what is the proof that no one in Shas is counting the days?

The title of best field reporter of the week can be awarded to Aharon Granot's article in Family News.

After experiencing intifadas, for the first time he felt fear as they drove on a road prone to stone pelting. In the best case, of course.

""The Angel of Death met me quite closely 14 years ago, when he visited my home through two terrorists who killed my neighbors, the Hurwitz family.

""The second time he sent me greetings through Meir Pavlovsky, who grew up in my home as a son, and who was fatally stabbed in the 'Chazon David' synagogue. But this is the first time since I can remember that I've been afraid to drive on the road.".

There is no doubt that Aharon Granot is the best field reporter in the Haredi press. He is brave, and willing to take risks. And if he is afraid - it is a sign that the situation is extremely tense.

Gedaliah Eitan, the security coordinator for the Ma'on settlement, tells him about the residents' feeling of insecurity, about how even he is afraid to travel to Jerusalem, to his mother-in-law.

2.

There was also a good field report in the Bekhila magazine: reporter Yitzhak Halevi entered the seam line between the neighborhoods of Armon Hanatzig and Jabal Mukaber.

Among other things, he managed to talk there with 'starving people' who, after years of military service, joined the police.

""The terrorists know that there are people like us. We are in their sights, but when it comes to work, no one knows us or recognizes us.".

Not long ago, they did a "Red Riding Hood... We made an arrest, and they knew we were in the area. We organized a terrorist event. They knew that if we were in the area, we would appear again. They set up a well-planned ambush for us, with weapons and everything. We barely escaped it. It was a miracle.".

3.

The one who made sure to pad the weekend press with PR articles is Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat.

When informed, the military correspondent, Israel Katzover, reprimanded him.

Regardless, or perhaps related, to the fact that the newspaper belongs to Gur Hasidism, which led to Barkat's election as mayor.

Katzover describes how Barkat "succeeded where others failed," and how within a few days, "in good coordination with the security services, the district police commanders, and while presenting the insights repeatedly to the security cabinet, he was actually the one who stopped the spread of terrorist attacks in the city.".

I don't want to give up, God forbid. I just hope that the coming week doesn't prove the opposite of what is written.

And I asked: If the attacks in Jerusalem continue, will the mayor then admit that this is a personal failure, as he has taken the honor for himself?

Family, by the way, did the same thing, but while breaking records of flattery.

The title, no less than: "Claiming the Crown." And in the title in the Mishnah: "The man who has already earned the nickname 'Rudy Giuliani of Jerusalem' - Mayor Nir Barkat." In the content itself (interview with Eliezer Shulman and Israel Yoskowitz), a flattering interview.

In the background, of course, are the allegations that he is actually dividing Jerusalem, by placing betondos and other kinds of separations between Jewish and Arab neighborhoods.

""Earlier this week, the cabinet was in turmoil. The Israel Police, in coordination with the Jerusalem Municipality, erected a concrete fence separating the Jewish neighborhood of Armon Hanatzig from the Arab neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber. Ministers claimed that this was a step from which there was no turning back. A practical division of the city.".

After suffering an attack from the right, he went to fill himself with flattering columns in the Haredi media, hoping that the coming days would be quiet and calm in the capital, and that at least a "joke" wouldn't come out.

Yated Ne'eman presented a version that seems more realistic of Barkat's story.

In Aryeh Zisman's political column, he definitely places the blame squarely on Barkat:

""On Sunday evening, the political-security cabinet convened... the ministers attacked Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, claiming that the cabinet had not decided to erect a temporary or permanent wall between the capital's neighborhoods.

""Their claim was that the image of the wall sends a message of actual division of the city, contrary to government policy. Minister Erdan tried to explain that this was a decision made by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat... without his intervention or approval. In his remarks, he reminded them that about a month ago, the ministers authorized the Jerusalem Municipality to make such decisions.".

Here is the truth.

Barkat, in collaboration with the police, decided on policy without consulting the top brass of the state's leadership.

Regards from Independent Education.

You will meet him in no less than two articles in family news.

But in both, the title is the same: "The War of Independence.".

Hello, family members, need ideas for brilliant headlines?

5.

The informant presented the best analysis of the security escalation in general and the map of the attacks sweeping the Holy Land in particular.

First, in a brilliant analysis by military correspondent A. Farr, who explained how the height of the flames does not satisfy the organizers of the recent attacks, and how the major organizations - Hamas and the Palestinian Authority - are not really encouraging or helping the attackers.

Regarding the disturbances at Joseph's Tomb, which caught fire, he explains that the Palestinian policemen violated the PA's rules.

""Abu Mazen... quietly instructed his security apparatus to 'break the bones' of anyone who would try to drag him and the PA into a new intifada. And Abu Mazen's people listened to him. They continued the cooperation between the security apparatus and the IDF, and did not allow events to cross a certain threshold. Until that night when they violated all instructions and removed the PA chairman from the scene. And this happened at Joseph's Tomb in Nablus.".

Definitely an interesting analysis.

But the even more interesting article was that of Benjamin Khinkis, entitled 'The Map of Terror.'.

One by one, Khinkis analyzes, in detail, the attacks of recent weeks, alongside the places from which the attackers came, and shows how most of them came from the Greater Jerusalem area.

In an interesting and clear map, he presents the city of Jerusalem, with its Arab and Jewish neighborhoods. Alongside this, he presents extensive details of the attacks themselves, placing a magnifying glass over each attack, through which he looks at the streets of the neighborhood from which the attacker came, and how close the Jewish streets are to those of the attackers.

I haven't read such a clear picture in a long time.

Pure pleasure.

If you wanted a sign that Yom Yom is no longer in Shas's home turf, it lies in the trip of the party's leader, Rabbi Yosef, this week, to Joseph's Tomb in Nablus. Only a photo was sent to Yom Yom. The newspaper's reporter was not invited to join the trip.

Anyone familiar with the tapestry of connections between the office of the Prime Minister and the office of Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri understands the significance of these words.

7.

The most emphatic sentence from Economy Minister Aryeh Deri's tour of Modi'in Illit this week (the coverage, by the way, really didn't resonate with the rest of the Haredi press) was: "Anyone who wants to study Torah, we will do everything to help him." So said Deri.

In the background: a statement issued by his office shortly after the end of the visit. For some reason, the statement omitted the first part of his speech, the part that emphasizes the right of Torah students, and only highlighted the part that states it is obligatory to help the ultra-Orthodox integrate into the workplace.

A moment after the headlines about the extremely inappropriate words of a Haredi minister were published, the bureau realized the magnitude of the mistake and released the full, accurate, and truthful speech.

And in the BSS - breathe a sigh of relief.

8.

Although 'Yom Yam', officially and according to Shas movement statements, does not really represent the movement, his messages are careful to protect its interests.

Here, for example, is coverage of events two years after the passing of Maran Gra"a Yosef zt"l.

Not a word every day about an alternative event organized by 'Kol Berama', in which the Grand Rabbi of Mazuz and the Rishalts Grand Rabbi Amar participated.

Not a word about an event held at the home of the head of Badatz Beit Yosef, the HaRav Yosef, in which supervisors of the Kashrut organization participated. The event was also attended by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yosef, the rabbi of Holon, and someone who is featured in the daily news about his participation in the main event held by the movement.
