The chairman of the Finance Committee, MK Moshe Gafni, today (Thursday) during a meeting of the committee that convened in Kfar Maccabiah, harshly attacked Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel of the Jewish Home party, for his ascension to the Temple Mount on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. The chairman of Degel Hatorah claimed that Ariel is doing political damage to Israel.
""I protest against him going up to the Temple Mount," said Gafni, "I think it doesn't make sense politically, I think he doesn't function as the Minister of Agriculture.
""Let him start taking care of his ministry's affairs instead of going up to the Temple Mount, let him function as the Minister of Agriculture and take care of the Land of Israel as the Minister of Agriculture and not by going up to the Temple Mount.".

Gafni later intensified his words and said: "With a minister of agriculture like that, I feel like I'm in exile. Completely unnecessary. Damage, damage.".
