""Today, the citizens of Israel should be proud that despite the money, connections, and power exerted on all elements of the rule of law, we operate as a clean democracy where everyone is equal before the law, and justice is seen and done," said MK Shelly Yachimovich from the Labor Party.

In response to the court's ruling in the Holyland case, MK Shelly Yachimovich from the Labor faction said that Ehud Olmert is a habitual criminal, who has repeatedly exploited his power and connections over decades to enrich himself, and has managed to escape time and time again, as she put it.

""Unfortunately, he climbed to the leadership of the country. It is painful and dangerous that such a corrupt person ruled our lives, but today the citizens of Israel should be proud that despite the money, connections, and power exerted on all elements of the rule of law, we operate as a clean democracy in which everyone is equal before the law, and justice is seen and done.".

The Legal Forum for Israel commented on the verdict in the Holyland trial: "The breadth of corruption, bribery, and corruption of the public arena revealed in Olmert's conviction is a record for exposing an era in which the leeches of government corruption turned the state and the executive branch into a tool for reaping profit at the public's expense. The day that former Prime Minister Olmert is convicted is an important day for the fight against government corruption. It is appropriate for every public figure who makes his home by using public assets to internalize these things.".

The Movement for Quality Government is shocked by the conviction of the former Prime Minister in one of the largest corruption scandals that exposed government systems that were tainted with corruption that reached its deepest roots. "This is a resounding wake-up call to all those committed to the fight against corruption and bribery that has spread throughout the public service and, as we have seen today, has reached the highest echelons.

""This is a sad day mixed with a hint of hope for a cleaner future. It is important to note that the court proceedings are an example and model of the way in which such unfortunate cases should be dealt with quickly and decisively.".
