For the first time in 17 years: A few weeks after Google announced the establishment of its parent company, Alphabet, and the organizational change within the company, the American search giant is renewing itself with a new logo.
The four colors: blue, red, green, and yellow remain on a white background. The entire logo still consists of the word Google, but the font has been significantly changed, now giving a rounder, cleaner look.
Google unveiled the logo in a short instructional video posted on YouTube, showing all the changes the company's logo has undergone over the years, against the backdrop of sounds of operational activity.
The company's website explained the change, which has already been mocked as "the biggest change Google has ever made," by saying that the new logo will be uniform across all platforms - computer, TV, mobile phone, watch and car dashboard. "The old logo was only intended for search and display on a desktop computer, so we are changing it," the company added.
In addition, the company introduced changes such as voice assistance, which will respond to clicks and typing equally well. "Many have worked on this, we are saying goodbye to the lowercase letter g in blue and replacing it with a letter g painted in four different colors and matching the logo. This is the first time we have changed the look and it probably won't be the last.".
It will be some time before we see the new branding across all of Google's products, websites, and apps, but the change is expected to be noticeable soon.
