After photos of the President of the State and the Prime Minister in Nazi uniforms were distributed, a video was also distributed on social media today (Thursday) showing the Attorney General, Attorney Yehuda Weinstein, in a Nazi uniform.
The video includes the caption: "I authorized the Nazi government in the Israeli concentration camp to act with all force against the racial inferiors from the right.".
Following the publication of videos against the president and prime minister, in which they appeared wearing uniforms with Nazi symbols and speaking, allegedly, in German, the State Attorney's Office announced this week that it had authorized the opening of an investigation against the distributor of the videos, "on suspicion of the offense of insulting a public servant.".
The head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division at the police ordered that the investigation be assigned to the National Cyber Unit at Lahav 433, which is accompanied by the Office of the Deputy State Attorney for Special Duties.
In the video against Rivlin, the president is seen wearing a Gestapo uniform, saluting with a raised hand and saying: "I am a sleazy, hypocritical president with self-hatred. When Jews are murdered, it doesn't really interest me.".
Behind the advertisement is a young Israeli named Asher Yako, who calls himself "Asheriko" on Facebook. He lives in the United States.
Yako, who is behind the hateful publications, said in a conversation with Maariv that he is not afraid of the investigation against him.
""I've gotten used to the fact that every time I create a picture, they announce an investigation. It's just a joke. They probably haven't heard of freedom of expression in the Israeli concentration camp.".
On Sunday this week, the police also began investigating online threats and incitement against the President of the State, Reuven Rivlin, following a post he published, in Hebrew and Arabic, on the social network Facebook after the arson attack, in which one and a half year old toddler Ali Dawabsheh perished.
The investigation was opened after the President's Office asked the police to investigate the threats received online against Rivlin's life.
