Will we see the end of the Golovnitsitz affair?

The dayan, the gaon Rabbi Menachem Mendel Shafran, clarifies in a special letter to the "members of the Jerusalem Hill purchase group in Beit Shemesh" that the disputed area, known as the Golovanzitz compound, is clean and that priests are permitted to reside there.

And so the judge writes:

""Arashak on the Mountain 5774" - And in every land of your possession you shall give a ransom to the land

In honor of the members of the Jerusalem Hill purchasing group in Beit Shemesh

Six months have passed since the current steering committee was appointed, and since then I have been in constant contact with it, and what was done in the field was done according to my instructions to an expert whom I appointed to supervise the field. About two months ago we finished inspecting the area, sifted what needed sifting, and removed for burial everything that could be human bones (to the dismay of those who are afraid on the far side).

According to the findings, it turns out in retrospect that even if they had done nothing, the priests would not have feared passing through there (there was nothing defilement in the tabernacle, even if such bones were from Israel). Now, what would have been removed is also being removed.

Everything is done according to the Halacha, Torah opinion and the view given to us in such a way that from the beginning the area is clean today and ready for construction and the priest is allowed to enter and move anywhere there. The alternative proposals such as an exchange plot or different construction in this area, even if external funding of 70-80 million shekels were received from well-wishers, would not be practical.

It is known and understood that there will be those who will scrutinize every word in this letter, what is in it and what is not in it. These publications that reveal a slander and cover up slander should not be addressed and should not be answered either in writing or orally. Anyone who from now on tries to publish unsigned halachic fables, views, scaremongering, cartoons that there is some concern about living in a place with no substance in their words, and it is said of all of them: Do not answer a fool like his folly, lest you also be compared to him.

I thank you on my own behalf and on behalf of the activists, the steering committee, the rabbis, the geniuses, and the teachers of the Shlita from all circles and denominations for all the support I received to get this far. I also thank those who published articles against - for heaven's sake, without whom it would not have been clear in the first place that any action would have been taken.

"The seal is blessed by Cohen Menachem Mendel Shafran.".
