The father of the 22-year-old ultra-Orthodox youth, who was arrested in Spain along with his friend on suspicion of trying to smuggle drugs, is currently in Morocco on a trip to the graves of the righteous. When he heard about his son's arrest, he decided to stay in the North African country and continue praying at the graves of the righteous. He is awaiting instructions from activists on whether to return to Israel or leave Morocco for Spain to try to visit his son and friend.

Peace be upon Nachman, the father of yeshiva student Nathan, who is detained in Madrid.

God is with you.

We were saddened to hear about the son's arrest.

I don't know much. I heard they gave him a suitcase and told him it was gold. I don't know what was in it, I just call on the people of Israel to pray for Nathan and his friend that they may be freed today, and immigrate to the Land of Israel together with Rabbi Berland, thanks to the hilula of Rabbi Masoud Abu Hatzirah, the father of Baba Sali - may there be salvation for all.

Have you spoken to the son since his arrest?

Baruch Hashem has called me several times. Chabad made sure he ate kosher. They say there is a chance that he will be under house arrest until the trial. We work in all areas. We have vouched for businessmen from all over the world. Pray for Nathan ben Nechama and Chaim Yisrael Matityahu ben Leah.

Is there a chance they will be released to house arrest?

If a person resident in Spain is found who agrees to sign a personal guarantee for them, that if they escape, he will accept their sentence - there is a good chance that the court will release them, until their sentence is handed down.

Can't they be banned from leaving Spain so they can't escape?

The laws, may God have mercy on him, in Spain are different from those in Israel. There is no concept of such an order, and a personal guarantee is required. There were once detainees who were signed by a local rabbi and escaped. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain a guarantee from the local Jews. Very difficult.

Thank you very much for talking to us.

Good news thanks to the righteous.
