The split: The rabbi of the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood, the rabbi Yeshayahu Frankel, who serves as a dayan in the court of the Grand Rabbi Gross, ordered the avrechims under his authority to vote in the local elections for the municipality of Bnei Brak, which were held in the month of Cheshvan, for the Bnei Torah - Etz party.

The Degel HaTorah members, who prayed with him at the yeshiva students' synagogue 'Kerem Yisrael' on Gnichovsky Street, subsequently decided to withdraw from the central synagogue, and prayed on Shabbats in a synagogue in the hall of the 'Masoret Yisrael' school in the neighborhood. Initially, the synagogue served as a branch of the central synagogue on Gnichovsky Street, and Rabbi Frankel also came there to deliver sermons. However, two weeks ago, the worshipers informed Rabbi Frankel, who used to come to deliver a sermon every Shabbat, that he would stop coming.

The new synagogue's rabbis went to see Rabbi Steinman, who ruled that they should indeed prevent Rabbi Frankel from delivering sermons in the synagogue. At one point, a vote was held among the worshippers in the temporary synagogue at the Mesorat Yisrael school - should a new rabbi be appointed? The result was 60 percent in favor of appointing a new rabbi.

This evening, Rabbi Yosef Lieberman, a judge in the court of the Grand Rabbi of Carlitz, was appointed rabbi of the synagogue. Haredim10 learned that despite the tensions, Rabbi Lieberman arrived at Rabbi Frankel's house yesterday and the two talked for a long time about the dispute. The meeting ended in a good spirit.

Today, the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Lieberman was officially crowned as the rabbi of the synagogue at the Mesorat Yisrael School, in a special ceremony held at the home of the Grail Steinman, who even named the synagogue "Beit Tefillah." The ceremony was also attended by the Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Schwartz, one of the neighborhood rabbis.
