The ugliest man in the country: This unflattering nickname has been attached to Godfrey Begum, from Uganda, known as Sabbi [ugliest in the local language], who suffers from a rare medical condition that has disfigured his face.
But this very ugly man has a happy family life. In recent days, he and his wife Kate gave birth to their sixth daughter, while this is already his eighth child, as he is the father of two additional children from his first marriage.
Kate was arranged for him when he was 18, and the ugly "grandfather" was careful not to meet his new wife's family: "I didn't want them to see me, because I was afraid they would convince her to leave me because of my appearance," Bogoma was quoted as saying on the Mirror website.
Four years later, when their first child was born, the couple realized they would not separate. "There was one time she left me, but she came back two months later," Beguma says.
For his living, Goma works as a shoemaker, but his ugly appearance serves as another source of income: he appears in paid evenings as "the ugliest man in the country," and recently he has even begun a music career.
