President Reuven Rivlin hosted today (Wednesday) at the President's Residence Shmuel, Rivki, and Yitzhak - the children of Rabbi Hezki Lipschitz and his wife Hani, Chabad emissaries in Nepal.

The children, who were sent back to Israel yesterday by their parents, following the earthquake that struck Nepal, were accompanied by their grandmother, Hani's mother, Yehudit Fleischman and by the Nepalese therapist, who also lives in the Chabad house.

The President welcomed the children with a warm hug and chocolate, and heard from them and their grandmother about the activity at the Chabad house, which has been bustling with life since the earthquake.

The children told the president that tomorrow they will be integrated into schools and kindergartens here in Israel, and that they will remain here until the evacuation and rescue work is completed and their home is safe for them again.

During their visit, the President connected by phone with their parents, Hani and Hezki, for an emotional conversation despite the technical difficulties on the phone line to Nepal. "I am very happy that you came to visit me, Rivki, Yitzhak and Shmuel," the President told the children, suggesting that they speak to their parents on the phone.

Upon establishing contact with Hani and Hezki, the president asked about their well-being. "We are in good shape, happy that we can extend a hand to anyone who needs it because that is our mission," the envoy said.

The President thanked them for their outreach and their moving activity on behalf of those in need in Nepal, saying: "What you are doing for the entire world and certainly for the Israelis who are there is extraordinary. Your work on the Jewish, Israeli and universal levels, and the way you opened your home to people in times of need is wonderful.".

When little Rivki asked her mother Hani when she would be back, her mother told her: "Soon, there are many more people we need to help. We miss you very much and we will see you very soon.".

The President assured the parents that their children are in the best hands, saying: "You opened your home to the entire world and we opened our home to your children here in Israel. We will take care of them here and through them we will say thank you very much, you are public emissaries who deal with public needs in faith.".
