With the opening of the coalition negotiations meeting between Likud and United Torah Judaism this morning (Tuesday) at the Knesset building, the Likudists surprised MK Moshe Gafni, chairman of Degel Hatorah, with a cake, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday.
Noga Katz, the spokeswoman for MK Zeev Elkin, announced: "We held a surprise party for Gafni during the negotiations. Mehadrin kosher...""
Gafni himself responded: "Why are you bringing cake? First we'll wrap things up, then there'll be time for cake...""
And indeed, shortly afterwards, as the cake participants kindly agreed, there was an explosion in the negotiations: the Likudniks apparently got confused and stuck a knife in the promises they made about child allowances instead of in the cake. One of those present in the room said with a smile to the Haredim10: "Find someone to buy the cake...""
