An exciting Bar Mitzvah: Family members and volunteers attended last night (Thursday) the bar mitzvah party of Assaf, a 13-year-old boy who was electrocuted and had both of his hands amputated, just a few hours earlier.

The person who quickly organized the bar mitzvah party was the man of mercy, Haim Kliger, VP of Marketing for 'Zman' magazine, who recruited volunteers to make the boy happy through the 'Hesed Israel' WhatsApp group he established in memory of his late brother-in-law.

13-year-old Assaf, a resident of the Golan Heights, was electrocuted while climbing an electrical pole. He was airlifted to Tel Hashomer Hospital in critical condition by helicopter.

As a result, his bar mitzvah celebration, which was planned for today, was canceled, and his family found themselves, instead of preparing for their son's celebration - in intensive care.

This morning, doctors were forced to amputate both of Assaf's hands.

Haim Kliger, who learned of the tragic incident at 3:30 PM, enlisted the help of activist Moti Mandel, who took on the production, while members of the Rachshei Lev organization worked to transport Assaf to the organization's hall at Sheba Hospital.

When Assaf was brought into the hall a few hours later, not a single eye remained dry: dozens of people danced with tears in their eyes for a long hour, while the parents were unable to digest the unity and beauty of the Jewish people.

""When medical professional Sam Waldman heard about it, he donated the food," says Yael Kliger. "And that's where medical professional Yossi Margalit came into the picture, who organized all the refreshments, with the contribution of Yudi Schlesinger, and Shraga Lipshitz to entertain with the Teplinsky Orchestra and the singing of Arla Smet.".

The company 'Hominer Souvenirs' also joined in the mitzvah, sending fancy souvenirs, and even the office employees so that they could contribute their talents in designing the tables.

But the surprises didn't end there: the chief rabbis entered the hall, one by one, and with suffocating words they blessed the boy and his family.

The Gaon Rabbi David Lau promised to sanctify the child at his wedding, while the Rashaltz Gaon Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef blessed him to be great in Torah. "To be greater than all your friends, you don't need hands..." said the Rashaltz.

בר מצווה

Haim Kliger: "There is no doubt that the evening I spent today was one of the special ones. Together we were able to bring a smile to the lips of a child who celebrated his Bar Mitzvah today, after undergoing surgery today to amputate both of his legs.".

""I had the privilege of conducting this entire amazing operation on the platform that I established less than a month ago for the repose of the soul of my dear brother-in-law, the late Yisrael, and which I called 'Chesed in Israel.' Thank you to everyone who had a part in this logistical operation, thank you to everyone who bothered and gave their all to bring a smile to the child's face.".

Kliger added: "It was a crazy and emotional event. You either danced or cried.".
