The award-winning vocal group from the US, '613' - SIX13, launches a new and moving song in memory of the three hostages - Eyal Gilad and Naftali Ya'd.
The song, written by the arranger and the man behind the band and considered one of the most senior in the vocal world in the US, Mike Boxer, was included in their new album, their sixth, which was released last week - and is being released to the media today as a single, ahead of the first Memorial Day, after the tragic deaths of the three.
Boxer: "Since the war broke out last summer, people around the world and even in the US feel and think that suddenly it's okay to show the ugly anti-Semitism that has been hiding inside them all along.".
""I feel more connected than ever to all my Jewish brothers and sisters around the world and especially in Israel.
""I felt I had to take action and I did the only thing I really know how to do, to create an anthem dedicated to all of us going through this difficult time. To show everyone who is in pain that we are with them and to show the entire world that we are fighting for our existence and will always be united.".
""The story of Eyal Gilad and Naftali broke my heart more than ever. Although we have unfortunately seen similar things in the past, this time it felt different. We all know that what happened to the three sons we lost was not the reason for the hardships we have gone through since then.".
""But the boys have become a symbol of our war, they are three faces that embody our struggle and in their honor we must stand tall and keep the faith, so I felt a special need to mention them explicitly in the song.".
The rich harmonic arrangement, made in the best tradition of the band with only human voices, is appropriate for the days of reckoning when many are careful not to listen to music.
