At a press conference held at the Herzliya Marina, Samsung Israel launched its new flagship devices, the S6 and S6 Edge, a new and intriguing generation than its predecessors - yet compatible with the iPhone to a rather suspicious degree.

The most interesting and expensive of them is of course the Edge, a device with a curved screen on both sides, which presents technological innovation (and a bit scary, I don't want to see my Edge fall...) that saves battery and allows you to elegantly stay up to date with all the important information even during important meetings - in a minimalist way when the screen is off, and only the curved part shows the notifications.

The regular S6 (and the Edge, too) apparently drew excessive inspiration from the iPhone. It seems that if the charging socket had been in the new USB standard, we would have gotten confused between them. The built-in battery, the metal-glass design, and... yes, a bit of the price (starting at 3800 NIS).

Well, I'll spare you the criticism, the device is simply beautiful. With a variety of deep and mostly dark colors, sharp lines even when rounded, a very high-quality screen (577ppi, they say the eye doesn't notice pixels starting at around 350), and a camera that puts a good portion of the competition in the corner. If you have extra money, save yourself a place in line at the cellular networks or private stores, this is your cell phone.

Almost real multitasking, with several programs running simultaneously - just like its big brother, the Galaxy Note; a powerful battery that provides 4 hours of work in 10 minutes of charging, the option of wireless charging, and a full charge in less than an hour and a half; and a workforce that will soon begin to enter comparison tests against computers.

Oren Maron, director of Samsung Israel's mobile division, said that Samsung is launching the device in the first wave of launches in the world - as promised, and that it is at the forefront not only in groundbreaking technology, but also in the quality of materials and the spectacular design.

""Today we are effectively setting a new benchmark in the mobile world. Since the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were first unveiled in Barcelona about a month ago, we have received countless enthusiastic and warm responses from the market in Israel. We are doing everything we can to meet the unprecedented demand, starting from the successful presale phase.".

""These days we are also completing the change in the concept of customer service in which Samsung has actually become the actual service provider in Israel. The move complements the rare user experience on the device with Samsung's newly launched customer service, and we are confident that Samsung customers will enjoy a completely different user experience than anything they have known before. One of the goals of the move is to build a direct connection with Samsung's many customers and gain a better understanding of customer needs.".

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in Israel from today, April 13, 2015, with storage options of 32/64/128GB, in Pearl White, Sapphire Black, Platinum Gold, Topaz Blue (Galaxy S6 only) and Emerald Green (Galaxy S6 Edge only).

Oh, and there was also 'live tweeting' from the event, Come in.
