When I first felt what 'Holy Fear' was'

""At our house," my wife told me, "we consult Rabbi Greinman for every question and matter." • He fled from honor, and honor pursued him. He fled from politics, and politicians pursued him. He fled from business, and businessmen were saved from his blessings. • Happy New Year to his personal Rabbi Chaim.

""The Rabbi" - that's what we called him at home.

Not 'Maran Rosh HaYeshiva', not 'HaKabbalah', nor 'Rashtava'.

""The Rabbi" - the simplest, the most touching. That's what he was for us, that's what he was for his tens of thousands of students.

When I met my wife, she told me about him: "Before you enter the family, you must know that in our house, on every question, on every matter, we consult and accept the opinion of Rabbi Greinman. That's how my father has been doing it for 30 years and that's how we were raised. The 'Torah opinion' in our house is Rabbi Greinman.".

When I first entered it with my father-in-law, I felt for the first time what 'holy fear' meant. His body was hunched over, his voice was barely audible, but his eyes were burning.

One look from him would have me glued to the spot.

From then until today, at every crossroads and in every dilemma, we would turn to him, and every time I would be amazed by his clarity, wisdom, and knowledge of all the affairs of this world.

Alongside his perseverance and extensive knowledge of Shas and poskim, he had immense expertise in medicine, economics, and business. Every Friday, yeshiva heads and heads of organizations would come to him, alongside doctors, public figures, and businessmen.

Everyone came to consult with him, everyone was saved by his blessings. Despite his power and greatness, he was never surrounded by Shin Bet agents and courtiers, he never participated in conferences and rallies, and he did not interfere in politics.

He fled from honor, and honor pursued him. He fled from politics, and politicians pursued him. He fled from business, and businessmen were saved from his blessings.

Simplicity alongside greatness, perseverance alongside leadership, and knowledge of all worldly affairs alongside greatness in Torah, will accompany me for years to come.

Today we accompanied you on your final journey and the heavens wept with us. Thank you for everything, father, grandfather, advisor, mentor and the greatest rabbi of all.

May your memory be blessed.
