Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: Rabbi Yitzhak Lava, the late, passed away this morning [A] at the age of 92 at Tel Hashomer Hospital.

The deceased, Z"L, was born in Germany and fled the Holocaust to Israel. He studied at the Lomza Yeshiva and later was a student in the first cycle of the Ponevezh Yeshiva.

He married his wife Golda Rivka, daughter of Rabbi David Dzimatrovsky, z'l, of Kfar Saba. He founded the 'Synagogue for Torah and Prayer of Love and Compassion' on Dessler Street in Bnei Brak, together with Rabbi Yitzhak Halberstadt, zt”l. He served as an educator at the 'Or Chaim' institutions for girls for about a decade.

Several years ago, he moved from his home on Jerusalem Street to the Vizhnitz Nursing Home in Bnei Brak, along with his wife. Three days ago, he collapsed and was hospitalized at Sheba Hospital, where he died this morning.

He left behind a generation of righteous people: his son Rabbi Nahum, a Maggid Shiur at Yeshiva Orhat Torah and Beit Matityahu; his son Rabbi Eliezer, the rabbi of Yeshiva Kiryat Herzog; and his son-in-law Rabbi Yehezkel Brenner, a rabbi of the Chazon Ish Kollel.

The funeral left today from the Ahavat Chesed synagogue on Dessler Street for the cemetery in Bnei Brak.

The eulogy was delivered by the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Kahneman, who mentioned that his father, the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Kahneman, told him about the difficulties the deceased zt"l had at the beginning of his journey in the yeshiva and how, with his dedication, he stuck to the yeshiva and was beloved by his grandfather, the Maran Rabbi zt"l, and was also honored to establish an important family thanks to his dedication to Torah. After him, the eulogy was delivered by the Rabbi Edelstein, who said in his eulogy that the deceased was remembered with a blessed memory. He was complete in the fear of God and inspired great awe in those around him.

After him, the Grand Rabbi Povarsky eulogized: "The deceased served his Creator with wonderful innocence and sincerity. From his youth, he was remarkable for his perseverance and wonderful work, and he was very special in the yeshiva, and he filled his years with these virtues. In his words, he emphasized his right to establish the Beit Midrash, "Ahavat Chesed," which is unique in that nothing is changed in it from the customs of the ancestors. The founders have the right of the ten Rishonim, and all the actions that continue are the right of the actions of the Rishonim.".

The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Edelstein eulogized: We are still in mourning for the passing yesterday of a sweet boy who was taken from his dear parents, Sheikhs, and his entire family. This time is a time of mourning for the students of the R.A., and the decrees that were in Ashkenaz in 1858-1959. We are also marking these days the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust of Hungarian Jewry, most of whose deportation occurred during this time. The great sorrow that we feel for the removal of a righteous man is sorrow for the lack of honor for God, and it is a great mitzvah. The deceased was blessed with the son of the great Gaon Rabbi Nachum, who is a very, very important Torah scholar, who has many rights.

The Gaon Rabbi Baruch and the Vesper: Without knowing the deceased's parents, one can say, based on his actions and my acquaintance with his son, the great Gaon Rabbi Nachum, that the Torah is seeking its lodging.

The eulogy was closed by his son, the eminent Rabbi Nachum Leva, with moving farewell words. The funeral procession departed for the Beit HaChaim Segula in Petah Tikva, where the eminent Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Adler and the grandson Rabbi Brenner delivered the eulogy.

May his memory be blessed.
