Developments in the Malaysian plane case:  Yesterday (Saturday), 11 al-Qaeda operatives were arrested for questioning, on suspicion of being involved in the disappearance of the Malaysian plane. The suspects are young men aged 22-25. They were arrested in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Their arrest was made after a thorough investigation by international investigators revealed suspicions that this was an act of terrorism and that armed men had hijacked the plane.

As you may recall, a Malaysia Airlines plane disappeared more than a month ago, 40 minutes after takeoff, with 239 passengers and 12 crew members on board.

So far, several of the suspects have admitted to involvement in terrorist activities, but not in the plane hijacking incident.

The families of the passengers who perished will receive death certificates so they can pursue their claim against the airline. At the same time, government representatives met with them to discuss the possibility of providing them with government assistance.

Meanwhile, the governments involved in the case intend to continue the search. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced that his government would do everything to solve the mystery and that they would continue the search by any means available. The head of the search team, Angus Houston, also announced that a special robotic submarine, the "Bluefin 21", would be sent to the depths of the southern Indian Ocean to check whether the signals detected in the area are related to the black box. The submarine is capable of diving to a depth of 4,500 meters for 18 hours.
