What is the strangest thing you can forget in a taxi?
Muhammad Bashir is the founder of the large taxi chain 'Buro' in Britain, and he told the 'Mirror' newspaper about the reality his drivers encountered in the backseat of their cars.
""There are quite a few strange objects, with a baby at the end of the spectrum, of course," says Bashir, who remembers several cases of lost babies. "At the other end, there are mobile phones, which are forgotten every day.".
When it is unclear who the lost item belongs to, the taxi company's policy is to turn the items over to the police.
The company handles 80,000 inquiries a week, and naturally the amount of losses is enormous. Among the losses are some particularly bizarre ones, such as a prosthetic leg, dead mice [intended as snake food], and goldfish.
""Money is also a common loss," says Bashir, and relates that one of the taxi cleaners recently found an envelope with €6,000. Fortunately, the name of the envelope's owner - a businessman from Middlesbrough - was written in clear letters and the money was returned to him, not before he gave a €30 'tip' to the honest man.
Bashir made a list of the ten most interesting items
