The sages of Israel have established in us: The Rebbe of Erlui, Rabbi Yochanan ben Tushna Sofer, underwent surgery today (Friday) in the cardiology department at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem to implant a pacemaker.

The 91-year-old Rebbe, a member of the Agudat Israel Council of Torah Sages, was hospitalized on the orders of his doctors on Wednesday evening for extensive tests, during which it was discovered that his heart was barely functioning. After consulting with doctors, it was decided to implant a pacemaker in his heart.

The surgery was completed successfully in the afternoon, and the Rebbe was transferred to the recovery room.

During the surgery, his followers held prayers in Arlev's study halls in Bnei Brak, Safed, Petah Tikva, Haifa, Elad, Betar, Beit Shemesh, Modi'in Illit, and Ashdod, and in the Ohel Shimon Yeshiva in the Katamon neighborhood, as well as in Hasidic centers in the US and Europe. On the Torah Talmud network 'Ketva Sofer', the children recited Tehillim for the success of the surgery. A prayer was also held at the Western Wall.

The public is called to continue praying for the complete recovery of Rabbi Yochanan ben Toshna.
