Avi Len, the owner of the page ''Tweet statuses'', published today (Wednesday) a public letter to the Minister of Finance Facebook Israel, Adi Sofer Thani.
""Tweet statuses"" Download from the web by Facebook almost a week ago, due to Sponsored status posting Without proper disclosure. Sofer Thani said today at the conference: "Anyone who deviates from our policy - their page will be removed.".
""In fact, I have been working for you at Facebook for 5 years, 18 hours a day, but strangely, we have no and never have had any contact. For you, 'Tweeting Statuses' have become a source of pride for Facebook Israel.
""You have often presented it as the crowning glory of the Israeli social network's success, and rightly so. In practice, you have not stopped creating difficulties, and I have remained silent. I am done remaining silent!"
""I took responsibility, I promised to act according to the grain of iodine from now on regarding your rules, even if I disagree with some of them, and I didn't even begin to tell my side and the enormous injustice done to me. But my side doesn't matter. The result matters.".
""6 days that 'Tweet Statuses' are off the air. Who are you actually punishing?"
""I deserve the punishment, but not another 720,000 fans, 3 million readers, and 1.5 million commenters! Today you said: 'Anyone who deviates from our policy - their page will be removed.' Good morning, hypocrisy.
""I want to tell you something that if you don't know, then you are failing in your duty: It exists on a lot of pages on Facebook Israel. It's not really difficult to discover them, but if you have trouble - we'd be happy to help you.".
""And how do you explain the fact that there are hundreds of fake pages on the Internet that pretend to be 'tweeting statuses'? Some of them even went so far as to use my personal photo. As long as you don't take them down, you are complicit in the crime of misleading users and rewarding scammers who steal likes.".
""I have been given a great privilege. I have established a page that is unparalleled in the world. This is the page of the Israeli public. The page that provided Israelis with a place to be heard and to struggle. A phenomenon shared by 720,000 people. A phenomenon that gives every person, wherever they are, an outlet for their views, beliefs, difficulties and successes.".
""You have a great responsibility to the Israeli public, and I demand that you live up to it.
""The 'Tweeting Statuses' page is the Israeli page in every sense, about ugliness and beauty, about anger and admiration. It is the page of all of us. I am addressing you as a representative of the little man, the one who wants to be heard, the one who wants to express himself, to joke or cry. I am addressing you on behalf of all those whose lives have changed for the better because of 'Tweeting Statuses.' They do not deserve punishment.
""For the sake of this large public, I intend to fight you for 'tweeting statuses.' I have already received inquiries from the international media. We will not allow you to arbitrarily eliminate the Israelis' page like this. Do you want war? You will get it.".
At the end of the "letter", Len addresses the users and urges them to contact the CEO of Facebook Israel directly, saying: "She didn't bother to answer us - maybe she will answer you.".
