New member of Shas' Council of Sages: Rabbi Reuven Elbaz

הגאון רבי ראובן אלבז, ראש ישיבת 'אור החיים', מונה הערב (חמישי) במפתיע לחבר מועצת חכמי התורה של תנועת ש"ס. זה קרה  זמן קצר לאחר שהסתיים כנס הבחירות של ש"ס: נשיא מועצת חכמי התורה, חכם שלום כהן, הגיע אל היכל ישיבת 'אור החיים' בירושלים. הוא שוחח עם הרב אלבז ובמהלך השיעור הקבוע של ראש הישיבה, אל מול תלמידיו, הכתיר אותו הנשיא כחבר ב'מועצת'. Chacham Shalom Cohen told Rabbi Elbaz that his appointment would take effect immediately. Let us recall that another member - the Gaon Rabbi David Yosef - was appointed as a member of the council during the 'sheva' of his father, the Gra"a zt"l.
