Chinese technology company Xiaomi is launching its flagship smartphone - Mi Note - a phablet with a 5.7-inch screen and quite impressive technological features.
The new smartphone is intended to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note and Apple's iPhone 6 Plus. Xiaomi's strategy is to produce high-end smartphones with an emphasis on quality design - like Apple - and sell them on the market at a price much lower than Apple's devices.
The Chinese company has drawn attention from Apple, which is wary of it and claims that Xiaomi is making imitations of Apple products. Jony Ive, Apple's chief designer, went so far as to say that Xiaomi is stealing from Apple.
Xiaomi's new device offers 3GB of internal memory, a super-powerful battery (3000mAh), a 13-megapixel camera with a 1080p display - for just $370. For $520 you can buy the Pro version of the device, which includes a 1440p screen resolution, 4GB of internal memory, and a more powerful processor. For comparison, the iPhone 6 Plus, with similar performance, sells for $749.
Xiaomi's smartphone runs on the Android operating system. The Chinese company does not yet market its devices in the West, but it is a tough competitor to Apple in Eastern markets.
