Safed ultra-Orthodox arrested: Suspect in threat against Nazareth bishop

An ultra-Orthodox man living in the city of Safed, in his 40s, was arrested early this morning (Tuesday) on suspicion of threatening a bishop.

The man arrived last night at the bishop's home in Nazareth and handed him a letter that included a series of threatening statements and quotes against him and Christians.

As part of the investigation into the incident, the suspect was arrested, and he will be brought this morning for a hearing on extending his detention at the Kiryat Shmona Magistrate's Court.

Police spokesman for the Weizmann Beach District said in a conversation with Haredim10 Because the suspect, an ultra-Orthodox Jew living in the city of Safed, was arrested for making threats.
