Charles K., the Jewish teacher from France, was attacked by three "young men of North African appearance who swore at him in Arabic." They beat him vigorously, broke his nose, and drew a swastika on his chest with a black marker. The young men, of "North African appearance," recognized Charles K.'s Jewishness by the Star of David pendant around his neck.
