On Sunday, the 20th of Nissan, late at night, the suspect and his two friends broke a kitchen window in a housing unit located on the top floor of a residential building on Yossi Bar Street in Ashdod. The apartment was empty and the burglars entered and took 300 NIS in cash and three gold earrings. Immediately afterwards, the three broke into another apartment on Bar Halfata Street, according to a familiar method, with two of them entering the apartment while the suspect remained in eye contact and served as a lookout for his friends. One of the burglars entered the bedroom of the apartment and turned on the light. The owner of the apartment, who was sleeping soundly, woke up and noticed the burglar, shouted at him, "What are you doing here?" - and in response, the burglar ran away with his friend, who was trying to enter the children's room in the apartment at the same time. Ashdod police patrol officers were called to the scene, and they captured the suspect, who was acting as a lookout, while he was hiding in the building's elevator shaft. The suspect, A 17.5-year-old resident of Ashdod was brought in for questioning by investigators from the Ashdod Police Department's interrogation department, after which he was imprisoned. Yesterday, an indictment was filed with the Magistrate's Court, accusing the minor of breaking into a residence and intentionally damaging property.
