A song for Holocaust Remembrance Day

Eliezer the Lion
April 28, 2014
Kobi Pindros' last grandmother passed away last year, and no one from his extended family is alive today who survived the Holocaust. He dedicates the song to his grandfather, who lived through those days and started a family in the Land of Israel.

grandfather,

 Aren't you confused with us?

You were a pillar of fire.

 And before we were created

 You were very brave.

And with your blessings from our eyes

 In a fire,

We know - the fire will not be extinguished.

 Because we and our children

We were saved from a disaster.

 We will defeat you.

 The houses we built

 The bark and the tar

 We are your revenge.

 You went back there.

 Before you left

To the electric fences, to step.

The light of your memory is extinguished.

 But you haven't forgotten.

The fruits of smoke and fire.

To the extended family,

 To the little brothers

To your lover and your mother.

 To remember you with love

 Grandchildren and great-grandchildren

There your blood will be shed.
