The international makeup brand L'Oreal Paris is currently launching the Collection Exclusive Pure Reds lipstick series - 5 lipsticks in rich red shades.

In honor of the launch, the company is offering tips for using red lipsticks, courtesy of makeup artist Assaf Bebo:

  • It is recommended to match your lipstick when you are without makeup, so that the lipstick choice is accurate to your skin tone.
  • For those with thin lips, it is recommended to choose bright red shades to create the illusion of full lips.
  • Drawing the contours – Use a lip pencil and draw the borders. The goal is not only to define and make it easier to apply the lipstick, but also to prevent the lipstick from leaking into the lip creases.
  • Filling and highlighting – Start by applying the lipstick in the center of the upper lips outward to each side and then continue in the same way on the lower lips.
  • For those with asymmetrical lips, it is recommended to create symmetry using a lip pencil that matches the shade of the lipstick.
  • For those with a tanned complexion, it is recommended to go for warm red shades. Fiery red with an orange undertone, and so on.
  • For those with fair skin, it is recommended to go for cool red shades with a pink undertone.
  • Women with teeth that tend to have a yellowish tint are advised to avoid shades of dark red so that it does not accentuate the color of their teeth.
  • To make the lipstick last throughout the day, apply it with a lip pencil and apply the lipstick on top, dust it with a little translucent powder, and then apply the lipstick again.
