
Captain Dr. Uri Yosef Sylvester, 30, from Tel Aviv, a doctor in the Shaked Battalion in the Givati Brigade, was killed today (Monday) by an explosive drone strike in southern Lebanon.
In the incident in which Sylvester Y.D. fell, two IDF officers and a soldier were seriously injured, and another soldier was moderately injured.
In addition, two officers and a soldier were slightly injured in the incident. One of the officers who was slightly injured is the commander of the Shaked Battalion.
The fighters were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment.
The incident occurred around 12:00 noon. Six explosive drones belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah were launched at a Givati force operating in the village of Zutar a-Sharqiya north of the Litani River, not far from Beaufort.
The drones exploded on a Nemr-type armored vehicle - and the battalion doctor was injured and killed.
This is the first time since the beginning of the war that a doctor has fallen on the battlefield during an IDF maneuver.
Earlier today, First Sergeant Michael Tyukin and First Sergeant Adam Tzarfati, who were killed in recent days by Hezbollah drone strikes in southern Lebanon, were laid to rest.
Tyukin was buried in the military cemetery in Ashkelon and Tzarfati in the military cemetery in Rosh HaAyin.
