IDF spokesman, Brigadier General Efi Dufferin, issued a statement today (Monday) from the northern border after taking control of the Beaufort Ridge and the Saluki Stream area.

""This is a significant operation that was planned over a long period of time and approved by the Chief of Staff, after an orderly battle procedure and meticulous operational preparations. Control of the Beaufort Ridge has important operational implications. This is a central geographical asset of Hezbollah, which constitutes a nerve center for the organization. From there, it controls fire and observation of the settlements of the Galilee and Metula. Since the beginning of Operation Roar of the Eagle alone, more than 400 launches have been launched from this area.".

""The infrastructure that Hezbollah built is Iranian infrastructure, which constitutes a significant center of command and control above and below the ground. We are pushing Hezbollah's capabilities and continuing to deepen the damage it inflicts. Alongside the operational achievements, the fighting is exacting heavy prices from us.

""In the battles yesterday and today, First Sergeant Adam Tsartafati and First Sergeant Michael Tyukin fell, may their memory be blessed. Michael, 21, from Ashkelon, a fighter in Sayeret Givati, and Adam, 20, from Rosh Ha-Ayin, a fighter in the Maglan unit. They fell in the battles on the ridge while defending the northern settlements. I share the grief of the families, we embrace them and we will continue to accompany them.".

""I was just at Ziv Hospital in Safed. I visited our fighters who were injured last night and their families. I met brave, determined fighters full of fighting spirit, and alongside them amazing medical teams. Our goal is clear: to protect the northern communities, to keep the threat away, to harm Hezbollah deeply and to weaken it over time.".

Dufferin referred to one of the main threats facing the army - Hezbollah's explosive drones and UAVs - and emphasized that the defense establishment is close to technological solutions: "We are working hard to find solutions to the drone threat. The Chief of Staff is personally involved in this, and all IDF bodies are working to develop operational means to deal with this threat. There is progress and we continue to work to bring about additional solutions.".

He added: "I want to say again to the residents of the north, the IDF is with you, we are with you, and we are working for you both on the front and in the home front. Everything we do is intended to strengthen your security and bring about a better security situation. I ask you to continue to be vigilant, to act responsibly, and to obey the instructions of the Home Front Command. The IDF is attacking and will continue to attack all over Lebanon, from Dahiyya to Tyre. Wherever there is a threat to Israeli citizens and IDF forces, we will work to remove it.".
